General Director Letter April 30
April 30, 2025
Dear supporters of Faith Bible Camp,
We are just over two months away from the 2025 Faith Bible Camp season! Much prayer, planning, and preparation have gone into anticipating another fruitful summer of ministry. However, there is still a lot of work to be done. Please continue to keep FBC in your prayers as the 2025 season approaches. Here are a few things to keep in mind as we look forward to summer.
Plan to come to camp! We are pleased that 525 campers are registered for our summer camp sessions, and many of our camp sessions are at or near capacity! We encourage anyone 18 or older in 2025 to join us for our Young Adult Retreat, taking place from June 27 to 30. The Young Adult Retreat is a three-night retreat, and it's a fantastic way to start the summer. We also have space in our Kids Summer Camp 1 & 2 sessions, July 7-12 and August 4-9, Girls Summer Camp, July 21-26, Boys Summer Camp, July 28-August 2, and for male campers at Jr. Teens Summer Camp 2, August 11-16. Please register for these sessions on our website.
Plan to work at camp! Whether for spring pre-season, during summer, or fall post-season, many workers are needed to make a summer of ministry occur. We greatly value and rely on volunteers to make this happen, especially those who fellowship with our member churches. The most urgent areas of need include male cabin leaders for Sr. Teens and Boys Camp, female cabin leaders for Girls Camp, cook’s assistants, boating assistants, waterfront directors, camp health officers, and sports directors. Please refer to our updated staff needs sheet for more details.
Sr. Teens Session 2, August 24-28
The Executive Committee is considering adding a second Sr. Teens session before the long weekend from Sunday, August 24 to Thursday, August 28. 109 campers are registered for our first session, but we have an additional 60 youths on our waitlist, as well as a youth group of approximately 20 who are interested. Before we reach out to campers on the waitlist, we need to confirm whether enough cabin leaders, cook’s assistants, and other program and support staff will be available to serve at this session. If you are available or know of someone who is, please contact Kent Rygiel at the camp office or info@faithbiblecamp.org as soon as possible. At the very latest, a decision to add a second session must be made by the end of May.
A reminder of important dates to mark on your calendars:
Prayer Gathering: In conjunction with the Day of Prayer for Camp on May 25, we invite everyone to join us for an FBC prayer gathering on May 28 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Charleswood Community Church. The evening will be an opportunity for people to gather and hear about some of our camp's needs, and to pray for wisdom and guidance as we finalize plans for the 2025 summer ministry. If you can't attend, we invite you to pray for our camp individually, as a family, or at your Wednesday evening service or prayer time.
Work Bees: Two church work bees are planned to help prepare the campsite. We invite you, your family, and friends to join us on Saturday, May 31, and Saturday, June 14. Lunch is provided, and this is an excellent opportunity to serve the Lord together. Please RSVP on our website or by emailing the camp office directly.
Staff Training: Our summer staff training will take place at the campsite from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6. There will be opportunities to enjoy fellowship, learn more about your role as a staff person, be challenged in your faith during chapel sessions, worship the Lord together, participate in fun activities, and enjoy delicious food! Staff training is mandatory for all cabin leaders, first-time dishes and dining room workers.
On behalf of the FBC Executive Committee,
Kent Rygiel
