General Director Letter May 29
May 29, 2025
Dear supporters of Faith Bible Camp,
Our Faith Bible Camp family mourn the passing of our General Manager and dear friend, Andrew Hayes, on Thursday, May 22. Andrew faithfully served the Lord in various capacities at FBC throughout his life. His passion, vision, wisdom, leadership, and servant's heart were a blessing and a Christ-like example. We ask that you keep his wife, Jennifer, their children, Rory, Brady, and Ivy, and their extended family in your prayers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church at 653 Knowles Avenue.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
We are less than a month away from our Young Adult Retreat and the beginning of our summer ministry. Please continue to pray for our various needs as we prepare to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with campers and provide everyone with a fun camp program and experience. Please pray for a prepared and dedicated staff for all camps. Please pray for Directors, Speakers, Managers and Cooks as they prepare to lead and teach.
We are thrilled that 544 campers are registered for our summer camp sessions, and many of our camp sessions are at or getting near capacity! There is still room for campers at some of our camp sessions, and we would love to see the campsite bursting with enthusiasm and campers experiencing the love and joy of the Lord throughout our excellent camp program! Please encourage campers to register for a wonderful time this summer in God's beautiful creation at faithbiblecamp.org.
Summer Staff
Please pray for the staff as they prepare to serve in various capacities throughout the summer. We thank the Lord for providing dedicated and qualified staff for most weekly positions. However, areas of urgent need for our camp to fully function this summer remain. The most urgent areas of need include male cabin leaders for Sr. Teens and Boys Camp, female cabin leaders for Girls Camp, cook’s assistants, boating assistants, waterfront directors, camp health officers, and sports directors. If you are interested in serving, please apply on our website.
Jr. Teens Summer Camp 2 - Head Cook
The Executive Committee asks for prayer and suggestions to fill our Head Cook position at Jr. Teens Summer Camp 2, August 11-16, 2025. If you are interested in serving in this role or know someone who might be interested, please contact Kent at the camp office or Heidi Clark. We trust the Lord will provide this vital role in our week of ministry
A reminder of important dates to mark on your calendars:
Work Bees: Two church work bees are planned to help prepare the campsite. We invite you, your family, and friends to join us on Saturday, June 7, and Saturday, June 14. Lunch is provided, and this is an excellent opportunity to serve the Lord together. Please RSVP on our website or by emailing the camp office directly.
Staff Training: Our summer staff training will take place at the campsite from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6. There will be opportunities to enjoy fellowship, learn more about your role as a staff person, be challenged in your faith during chapel sessions, worship the Lord together, participate in fun activities, and enjoy delicious food! Staff training is mandatory for all cabin leaders, first-time dishes and dining room workers.
On behalf of the FBC Executive Committee,
Kent Rygiel
General Director
