Faith Bible Camp Privacy Policy 

In accordance with applicable laws, Faith Bible Camp is committed to protecting the privacy of its board and executive committee members, staff, donors, volunteers, campers, parents/guardians, and any other persons about or from whom Faith Bible Camp collects personal information. Any personally identifiable information is considered personal information and will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Accountability

Faith Bible Camp is responsible for maintaining and protecting the personal information under its control and has designated a Privacy Officer who is responsible to ensure that Faith Bible Camp complies with this Privacy Policy and its privacy obligations in accordance with applicable laws.

 

Identifying Purposes

Faith Bible Camp collects and uses personal information for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to:

  • as required by the government to process government forms

  • to communicate with the staff and volunteer member before, during, and after their term

  • to interview potential staff and volunteer members

  • to inform campers, parents, guardians, supervisors regarding the staff member and volunteer that will interact with the camper during their stay

  • to send follow up information about Faith Bible Camp

  • for promotional purposes 

Camper personal information is collected to communicate with the parent/guardian about the camper’s stay at Faith Bible Camp, to process payments, to serve the camper’s needs before, during, and after their stay to send follow up information about Faith Bible Camp, and for promotional purposes.

Friends and/or donor’s personal information is collected to communicate regarding the ministry of Faith Bible Camp, to provide opportunities to be involved and support Faith Bible Camp, and for promotional purposes.  

 

Consent

Consent will be obtained from the person whose personal information is collected, used, and disclosed, unless obtaining the consent would be inappropriate or not required by law. Faith Bible Camp relies on the following action(s) by the board and executive committee members, staff, donors, volunteers, parents/guardians or camper who is the age of majority as an indication of consent to existing and future personal information practices:

  • express consent or acknowledgement contained within a written, verbal, or electronic application or registration process

  • consent solicited by Faith Bible Camp for a specified purpose

  • receipt of this Privacy Policy, until the parent/guardian or camper who is the age of majority, notifies Faith Bible Camp of a withdrawal of this consent

A person may withdraw his or her consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. The person will be informed of reasonably foreseeable implications of the withdrawal. A person may withdraw his or her consent by letter or e-mail. Letters are to be sent to 760 Charleswood Road, Winnipeg, MB, R3R 1K6, with a sentence stating “I formally remove consent for Faith Bible Camp to use my personal information. E-mails are to be sent to info@faithbiblecamp.org with “removal of consent for personal information” in the subject line.

 

Limiting Collection

Information collected will be limited to that required for the purpose or purposes identified by Faith Bible Camp or as required by law.

 

Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected or as required by law. If Faith Bible Camp requires personal information for any other purpose, the person will be notified of the new purpose and subject to his or her consent, that new purpose will become an Identifying Purpose. Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the Identifying Purposes or as permitted by law. After which all collected personal information shall be destroyed, erased, or made anonymous. All personal records and files maintained by Faith Bible Camp are confidential and remain the property of Faith Bible Camp.

 

Accuracy

Faith Bible Camp will maintain all personal information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

 

Safeguards

Faith Bible Camp will protect personal information by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity, format, location, and storage of personal information. This safeguarding could include physical measures such as locked filing cabinets, organizational measures such as restricted access to files with personal information, or technological measures such as security software and passwords.

 

Openness

Faith Bible Camp is responsible for all personal information under its control and has a designated Privacy Officer, the Chairperson of the Executive Committee who is accountable to the Board of Directors for Faith Bible Camp’s compliance with this Privacy Policy. Access to Personal Information

Access to personal information will be granted, where Faith Bible Camp is legally required to release the information, provided that the disclosure does not violate any applicable statues or contracts, to the person to whom the information pertains where there is an appropriate written consent.

 

Challenging Compliance

Complaints or inquiries about the collection, use, disclosure or retention of personal information and Faith Bible Camp’s compliance should be directed to the Privacy Officer. The Privacy Officer will investigate complaints and ensure that appropriate measures are taken.
